Vacation, weekend 1
I hitched a ride to southern oregon with two of the Zodettes at the last minute and spent the day today building mounds and rows in my parents' garden. I love a good bit of manual labor. (surely i'll be sore tomorrow...) Then my mom and I made some manicotti (as jess says, "sigh, cheese tubes.") with fresh herbs from the herb patch.
The vacation started on thursday with a bit of celebratory happy hour with sean and then a stop by the Bolenbaugh-DeFrank mansion. Though the whiskey-wine combo made the trip south a little uncomfortable, a nice breakfast of taco bell and convo with two smart ladies pepped me up quite a lot.
The chihuahuas, Misses Pennyweather and Tallulah, are as fat as ever and Penny hasn't tried to eat my face off and Lulah loves me because I give her cheese.
Tonight I'll head south to the town of my upbringing to spend an evening with the best friend of my upbringing. This may sound dangerous, but we're old ladies now and can't be bothered to traipse through the woods on multiple drugs anymore. Or can we...
I love vacation.
